Interdisciplinary International Scientific Conference of Caucasus Anthropological Studies
TSU Ivane Javakhishvili Institute of History and Ethnology invites scholars, researchers, and practitioners to submit abstracts for the interdisciplinary conference „Caucasus Ancient and Modern Populations Anthropology.“ The conference is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the distinguished Georgian scholar Professor Malkhaz Abdushelishvili, whose work significantly contributed to the development of anthropology and Caucasus studies.
The conference will take place at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (Tbilisi, Georgia) November from 26thto 28th 2026 . The event aims to promote international academic dialogue on the development, formation, and historical processes of the Caucasus population, bringing together scholars from different disciplines working on the Caucasus region. The conference welcomes original research papers related, but not limited, to the following fields:
Bioarcheology
modern technology bioarcheological research
Bioarcheology, multidisciplinary archaeological research
Researchers should provide
Abstracts of up to 350 words (New Times Roman for English, Sylfaen for Georgian) should present original research related to the physical or cultural anthropology and archaeology of the Caucasus region.
At least 5 key words
Submitted papers must be original and must not contain AI-generated research without original authorship. The conference will be held in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend either in person or online.
All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the scientific committee and selected proposals will be organized into thematic panels according to their subject, keywords, and research focus. The conference does not charge a participation fee. Abstract submission deadline -30August.
